Spotlight: Spring 2027

We saw talented, curious peers who simply didn't know where to start — not because they lacked ability, but because no structured pathway existed for beginners. To remedy that, the Exeter Genetics and Biotech Club founded the Exeter Biology Symposium: a symposium specifically for beginner researchers.

About the Event

Breaking Into Biology, Together

Hosted in Spring 2027 at Exeter's historic campus, Exeter Biology Symposium creates a platform for ambitious high schoolers and middle schoolers nationwide to enter biological research and experience the rigor and exploration science research unlocks.

Open to All Levels

Whether you have never done research before or are looking to expand your experience to dry-lab research, EBS provides the perfect opportunity for rigorous accessible dry-lab research.

Dry-Lab Focus

To make biology research accessible to all students, EBS focuses on dry-lab research, which can be conducted with just a computer and internet connection.

Registration Opens

Student registration and interest forms open. Resource library access begins.

Abstract Submissions Due

Students submit research abstracts for review. All registered participants are eligible to submit.

April 2027
Acceptance Notifications

Participants receive notification of abstract acceptance and presentation format assignment.

May 2027
Exeter Biology Symposium

Symposium Day, in-person at Phillips Exeter Academy and online.
